Well I do hope that there are some posts about the LVC 701 within the forum that she / Tisarto can find to help with any potential research for developing women's cuts moving forward: I think the only one I can remember is posted by yourself Double 0...

Tisarto: if you are listening and researching vintage cuts [which fwiw is what this site/forum is mostly interested in and knowledgable about]: a modern deviation is something like this: the Levis made and crafted barrel jean is a decent high-rise wide leg cut worth pursuing [emulating in your design] for women who don't want entirely tight denim... [somewhere near a true vintage cut, but with modifications ...]

We don't want to hone our way to a sartotial monoculture any more than we already have. The criteria for a good post needn't be "would I wear this?" Variety is a very good thing.

Keep in mind that at any given time there are FAR more "lurkers" on the site than active members. 11 members vs 33 guests as of this writing. [Hollows writes this on 31.10.19 - today, 6 members, 35 guests and 10 search-bots - and I think the newest member may well be leaving now? or staying to learn about vintage American and amerikaji styles given the warm welcome?]

I do believe that the forum has a reputation for being elitist/snobbish, and that this reputation is not entirely undeserved. There tends to be little tolerance for deviations from our formula, and that scares off a lot of would-be contributors before they even sign up. The pool of regular posters is VERY small lately, and a little kindness could go a long way towards promoting growth and renewed interest.

It feels ridiculous to ask a group of (mostly) middle aged (mostly) men to exercise basic kindness, but the forum dies without that, regardless of storage limits. Do your best to keep the criticism constructive, and if someone calls you an asshole, resist the urge to feel like they just don't understand your charming ways. It might be both."

Well said Bartleby

While I’m not a shoes off household I do appreciate it when people ask. And furthermore; it’s very rude when a sales person invites themselves in and begins their pitch.
If future helens read this, please introduce yourself, let us know a little about yourself. Maybe introduce the topic by asking a few questions and then soliciting opinions, instead of barging through the door with your sales bag and setting up shop in our living room.

And if you are wondering why I’m here and you think it’s hard to find this group, that says even more about your ignorance. That was all classy, thank you, lesson learned ;)

This doesn’t really merit a response, but going on the assumption that you were serious in this attempt, I’ll make a few points.

Advertising is ubiquitous on the internet- it’s hard to do anything online or, increasingly off, without feeling observed and marketed to, and as William Gibson said in Pattern Recognition, the slickness and pervasiveness of this begins to make you question every interaction you have. (Poorly paraphrased)

Given this environment, if you want to market to a group you need to do your homework. Know your audience, speak in their language and tone, make sure they are the right target for your product in the first place.

If you can’t be bothered to do that basic work, maybe this isn’t the job for you. Storming off in a huff, complaining of bullying, and mentioning you are a girl are all easy reactions that try, but fail, to deflect blame for your ill-preparedness.
You did receive a rude welcome, but you could learn from it.
