Yep, I've used Shoe Goo to (temporarily) reattach soles a few times before—never on sneakers but it should be the same principle
Only ever had good luck with it when I've been able to properly get in and clean the surfaces between which it's being applied; only ever had bad luck with it when I haven't

I've used Shoe Goo, too, but not on sneakers. I wear very ordinary boat or deck-type sneakers all the time, like Bass or Sperry. But the top generally wears out before the sole. I use Shoe Goo on a few pairs of boots to keep them from wearing down in a few spots, which they otherwise always do. Funny how one boot will wear differently than the other one.
