'Wash inside, inside out' just to confuse the luddites.

Dunno who has shaken their heads more at these abominations, me or the seamstresses!

Picked these up in a local Salvation Army yesterday afternoon.  The crotch gusset, and significant leg twist gives them a 'unique' fit... maybe i'll post a fit pic later.  I don't know much about them.  I assume they're a sample from around 99 ( I suck at reading production codes), they're stamped pre-worn but appear dead denim wise.

They look like a ‘twisted’ pair from the Levi’s Engineered range, a cheaper, diffusion of the pioneering Levi’s Red line. A production date of (week 52, ie Dec) 1999 looks correct from the label too, which seems about right for this style.

Question for you, was there ever such a thing as a t-backed type 2?

The short answer is yes. If you have the Levi’s Vintage Denim Jackets book, there are examples on p114 (#33) and 128 (#39). Larger sizes typically had side panels rather than t-backs so these are likely to be exceptions rather than the rule.

Be aware.  There are fakes everywhere on ebay and all over the internet. Search well before you buy. It seems that we are running out of levi's pants especially in Europe. Buy only from authorized sellers or first check garment yoursel beore purchasing. Button stamps, stickers, tabs etc

What we have here. NOS Made in Turkey 247 button  A 501 1947 special edition  and a 615. Every tag matches. Numbers, zip, etc.
But there are no size numbers on the patch and no XX but have seen this elswhere What I payed is 7 euros each. Definitely not fakes but something looks fishy with the special edition 1947 patch

"Mainline Levi’s calling itself 'vintage' is a stretch. Unless it’s LVC or MIJ, the construction just isn't there. It feels more like denim-flavored fast fashion than heritage gear these days."
