I H- Have you found any unusual stifel fabric patterns- in any of the ads?
Seems like it’s always the basic patterns? |

Sansome, nothing unusual so far; dot stripe is generally shown for outerwear are such as chore coats, overalls, hats and pants, and shirts are generally polka dot.
I did find this RPPC though and have ordered it so I’ll take my smartphone macro lens to it when it arrives: Edited by Iron Horse - 24 May 2020 at 9:35pm |

Yep, can't wait to get it!
In the meantime, found this 1920s Stifel ad with a print made just for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad: Edited by Iron Horse - 25 May 2020 at 8:11pm |

Thanks Sansome; apparently Stifel took on various custom prints like these for railroads. Here’s a salesman’s sample for one for the Erie Railroad and the corresponding wobble shank button:
And apparently the patent for one for the Santa Fe Railroad, but haven’t found a vintage example yet: |

Got the RPPC yesterday but the image is just a bit too small to make out the wabash/Stifel pattern, though it does look railroad to me:
This one sold in under a minute of me posting it on Instagram too! |
