I am working with a group to produce a newer-version of a wobble shank index.  We are in need of the following brands of wobble shank (ring back/ loop back) buttons in hi-resolution color scan (front and back needed for verification).  No tack buttons will work for this effort, even if the face of the cap is the same.

Here is a list of the buttons needed to fulfill the project:

ENNIS
Gate City
Golden Rod
Greenhood's
Hawkins/Union Made/Special
Estrella/Jose Chimely/S.L.P.
Lex-N-Ton
Lexi-N-Ton/Blue-grass
Monarch of the West
Peerless/BW&Co./Mfg. Co.
Red Star
The Revolution
Sexton Bros./St. Louis
Sugarman's
Sweet Orr & Co.
Trojan Brand
Great Western R.F. & H.
Union Made/GwG
Wreath
American Brand
Artisan Brand
Better Made
The Blue Ridge Overall Co.
Hamilton Carhartt
Park Woolen Mills
Rex Brand
Mogul Brand
La Moderna/Galnares
Hapgrade/Pilot Brand
Jaxon
L&B
SS & Co.
Strong Pull Virginia
Whiteville/Special Made
Rockford
White Oak
Big Tractor
Morotock
Blue Buckle

There are a few varieties in existence of certain buttons so please inquire with me if you think you might be able to contribute.  PM me for details if you may be of help for this effort.

This can also be where you post your favorite wobble shank photos.

Question: are wobble shank buttons the same as the removable buttons (with the removable ring on the back)?

Thanks, Grant

Jelthead:

Wobble Shanks are similar to ringbacks, loopbacks, loop shanks, etc.

To update, I've been working with Scovill Fasteners' archivist to complete the remaining button photographs from the update project with the National Button Society.  It is now complete.  I will advise when I receive news about the book going to print, but a neat tidbit is that it now has about 40 extra buttons credited to this effort.

Big thanks to all those who submitted pictures to me for this project update.

I wish I could have helped with a submission, but I'll certainly get a copy when she comes out.
