Inspired by talk in the Roy thread I'm trying to think of who produces sanforised denim that is 'bro approved.

Obviously at the top of the list there’s Ande Whall, and also Left Field.

Then off the top of my head there’s a whole bunch of other brands; Tellason, Railcar, Rogue Territory, Imogen + Willie, Noble, Baldwin, Norman Russell, 3Sixteen, Raleigh, also, Engineered Garments, Post Overalls, Japan Blue, Momotaro (?). LVC too with the 551ZXX and 1967 505.

In Britain we have Hawksmill, Albam (actually they look half decent and use Japanes fabric), Dawson and Huit.

Trouble is none of them really offer a cut I’d like or have either shit tin or tacky gold buttons.

Most of the contemporary brands are fashion forward - heavily tapered, very low rise or vanity sized - and with the exception of Dawson who offer a fairly good looking 50’s cut, by and large none really offer anything resembling a good ’47.

Perhaps the only other of note is the new no. 2 fabric from Warehouse which they are going to use in their lot 1001 cut. Could be worth a pop. The patch is bloddy naff though.

* edit - forgot of course to mention perhaps one of the earliest and certainly one of the few Japanese repro brands to offer it - Evisu, no. 2! Which in typical LVC model varies from year year as much as their sizing inconsistency. Still, had I sized my 2000 no. 2 correctly none of this post would have been warranted.

My thighs/butt are too big to fit into most modern jeans. So I usually have to go with more repro style cuts with a higher rise and larger top block. WH Ranch Dungarees nails this.

I hear that, and I don't have notably built thighs. Is it too much to ask for a proper cut with fitted seat, regular rise, just a gradual taper knee to hem that still affords room in the thigh without some deal breaker ruling them out. Bloody hell. Oh, also in an attractive woven fabric. With proper iron buttons. Four of them, plus the waist button. Not three. And cotton stitching. Oh, and absolutely a very narrow moderate tight chain stitch. From a brand that doesn't make me cringe. And that doesn't expect loyal customers to pay whatever ludicrous retail price asked of them. I mean jesus.

Actually, these might fit that very bill.

SDA haven't really appealed to me in the past, but these? Maybe.
What's your thoughts bro's?

Iu at Companion Denim can make you whatever you want to the exact measurements you ask for.  And he has 20ish different denims to choose from.  Highly recommended.  Turnaround is usually 4-6 weeks on a custom pair.

TCB's 505 would be a classic pair with sanforized denim (which looks quite good)...but zip fly of course

Yes saw them mate, but rather too high a front rise for me these days. 28cm front / 38cm back is OK at tops - a shade less preferable.. I do like TCB though, great small workshop brand.
