What's the quality like on those pike bros? Anyone have any experience with the 'Houston' n1's. Any good? The cheap price seems to good to be true.

I can only say that I think it's great. The lining is quite "puffy" but then it's new, so I believe it will compress over time. The jungle cloth is thick and a great colour and the cut is great. The label is pretty "meh"
I know Aero's view is that the pike brothers are more bulky and than other repro's.
I ordered it direct from Pike Brothers (as all of the UK stockists worked out more expensive, weirdly) but had to size as normal, contrary to popular "go a size down" advice. They delivered really quickly and included a nice stencilled bag in with the jacket, which was a nice touch.
I've had a few things from them (shirts, o'alls) and have always been pleased with them.

^ he hit the nail on the head. I'm pleased with mine. It's a great jacket and you can't beat the service ad price. I don't think PB get the love they deserve.

Depends on the grade of authenticity you want to have.....I had Houston's attempts on the MA-1 jacket and the N-3A parka...they were nice jackets, well sewn, but the overall impression was far from the originals I have seen or worn.

Regarding their N-1:
The acrylic fiber lining of Houston's N-1 Deck Jacket would be a "show stopper" for me....

Pike Bros:
The overall impression of the Pike's stuff is really nice. They are crafted well (I have the "Elephant Skin Vest" and seen their B-10 and N-1 jackets in person...) but be aware that the lining inside the Pike N-1 is totally off! It is more of a blanket than the fuzzy alpaca stuff you will find in a RMC or Buzz Rickson N-1.

I'm looking at the Pike N-1 but worried it might be too 'big'
Really I need a jacket that can be worn with a sleeker boot as well as a big heavy boot
Plus I'm not well built
Opinions?
