Shoulda bought a TORO Sansome, one pull start guarantee.
I rent , but am responsible for mowing our yard and its a corner lot so roughly an hour or of push mowing... i would edge initially but this year i cheated and used a little roundup before i stopped caring and dropped the mower down to 2/2 ... I'm the only person in my neighborhood it seems who isnt retired or working from home. These people treat their yards better than some folks treat their pets. 4 houses down a lady uses a reel mower and then has a small section of sodded fescue under a magnolia she trims with scissors She also keeps roses competitively i believe |

Fully shade, Kentucky blue grass and delta mix. I love that fine blade, even though I live in California and it’s so hard to keep that shade mix going.

![]() ![]() ![]() With a lumpy yard..... I won a $1,000 Commercial grade -Toro mower at a raffle, rainbird sprinklers put on a picnic and display at a local park- Most of the people made the early exit, they went through 10-15 numbers of people who were no longer there. So I won, sold it on eBay the following week....got me a cheap mower ![]() No highly manicured yards around my neighborhood. Robroy- I sprinkled a small bag of that grass in the side yard, I like the texture. |

Where l work, our club is switching from a Toro fleet to a John Deere one.
Always preferd the driving position(s) of the Toro machines. The cut on both is similar though... |

My company always used electric toros, and I always hated them. They’re a pain to lug around to various yards during the day- heavy and awkward (who designed these damn things- there’s no way to pick them up easily as the metal housing has fairly sharp edges underneath and picking it up by the handle is awkward and spine wrecking).
A few years ago I tried a rotary push mower, with some trepidation- lo and behold it was much easier to transport and did at least as good (I’d say superior) a job- even on overgrown lawns (with a little creative raking). I’ve never looked back, except to wonder why I lugged the toros around for so long. Bear in mind I’m a gardener in a dense urban environment, so most of the lawns are on the smaller side. I wouldn’t relish cutting 9 holes with it! Sansome- I believe I have noticed some clipped lawns in your neighborhood- over on the Reagan side. |

Last commercial landscaping outfit i worked with invested in Walker first riding mower id ever encountered that bagged clippings. Prior to the upgrade we had Kubota zt mowers. All our trimmers were from Stihl. I was 'foreman/driver' on a truck i wanna say we did 4 storage units , 2O residences, and a retirement community each week. I was paid hourly at first then weekly through the summer. |

The best mower I ever had was a used one with a military decal on top of the engine. I have no idea of the brand. My room mate got it from the thrift store. I had no experience with gasoline mowers at that point so after a while when it started to malfunction I assumed it was done, took it back to the thrift store & bought another used one. It was then, after using the replacement, that I realized that I'd thrown away a great machine. It easily cut anything I put it over & never bogged down. No machine I've had since has had that kind of power. Always wondered what it was. Some kind of military-spec, commando mower...
