Absolutely remarkable.  I am also, obviously elbowing my way onto the list of book buyers when it becomes available.
Did you see any cyanotypes?  My proud collection is a single photograph of sawmill workers.  It is purported to be 1890-1900 New England, but there is nothing on the photo to verify it.  There are some very interesting clothing details, but the primary unusual quality is that rather than black or sepia the picture is blue.  My brother turned me on to cyanotypes when he was able to purchase one of a rowing scene for the UW special collections.  I can't imagine that Cory hasn't got any in a collection that expansive, but if by chance he doesn't, I'd be happy to lend it.

can't say what hasn't already been said but those are some amazing amazing photographs. looking forward to picking up both your book and the bandit's when they come out. thank you for making the trip to ohio and for putting this together for everyone.

i never knew the amount of work (if you consider this work when it is so incredibly pleasurable) was so extensive and this is definitely an amazing body of archives. collections like these are impossible to replace and are so valuable (in a non-monetary sense). it presents a trove of information/inspiration for cory's photography, the harris family for their love of the historical representation and construction of clothing and defintely a window into the lives from america's past.

bravo.

AMAZING!

they had a little display/show at stock vintage in manhattan and it was of the same subject matter, basically men in their workwear and/or working in working attire. it was totally mind blowing to see these pictures and finding out, just as bandit has, the collector spent a good 10 yrs(or more) looking for these types of pictures. and seeing the actual prints in real life is a whole other story/experience. also something that draws me and i'm sure everyone else to these types of pictures, as NR mentioned, is the fact that taking a picture back then was kind of a big deal and you'd wear your 'sunday best'

thanks nonrivited sansome and bandit for making this post happen.
