If me and the boy are up early on Sunday's we sometimes head to a nature reserve called Danes Dyke, its a short walk around the coast from the lighthouse at Flamborough head, we can be there in not much more than 2hours (you have probably seen us there catching crabs in the where did your jeans go thread)
We often pass this place and i have never called in Flamborough Marine Ltd  the "History" page is well worth a read.

 Filey Fishermen

Victorian Fishermen in their Ganseys

They make traditional hand made fishermans ganseys the age old method to local patterns, knitted entirely out of one thread unlike most who construct pannels and then stitch them together afterwards.
Worn well by db's these would look fantastic but at £350-400 ($520) they ain't cheap although im sure they are worth every penny.
Next time we are over there i will pop in and see if they will let me take a few photo's.

Me too,

They're local patterns slab often passed down by word of mouth and native to their fishing village.

Did someone say "Knitwear"? This is just the more interesting half of my knitted wardrobe. There are plain grey and blue jumpers (or sweaters). The weather is fast approaching down here on Dartmoor for these to start being worn. So, vintage Pendleton Shawl Collar cardigan, Cluct Works Biker Club (a gift for some ad hoc modelling I did for them), my scruffy 'go to' Norwegian Birds Eye (actually knitted in Ireland) and Howlin' by Morrison Fair Isle.

Some nice knits posted! I'm ready for the colder months to start making their appearance. Any chance to throw on a jacket and sweater and I'm a happy camper.

Here's one of my go to knits during the colder months. The Dehen 1920 Shawl Collar Coat, it's a really well made piece with a nice dense weave to it. For anyone thinking about picking one up, check out Best Made Co.  near the end of the year. They usually have them at 50% off during their sale before Christmas.

Yup, that's how its done^ Im not one for a shawl collar but you wear it very well.

These hand knitted Fair Isle's look nice by Mati Ventrillion.

Fisherman jumper

The full range is found under 'Knitwear Styles' and the choice of 'Wool Colours is just mind-boggling.

Very nice A_See. Always admired Best Made Co. Didn't realize that sweater was made by Dehen.

the choice of colors is really mind boggling; I love the fisherman knit; too bad they are currently not accepting any orders

great knits .
I have a few , including the grey dean shawl cardigan. That's my favorite. A See you wear it very nice. Used to have a St James ala Maynard describes, wasn't very good, lost it's shape after a few seasons. Armor lux I like better. Post pictures later
