Is that the reason we all use a hosting site?

Techy weirdo's and folks under 40...? come the 8th of Jan Flickr is limiting all free accounts to 1000 images, i had 3000 images posted here which ive managed to reduce to 1500 (i want to choose what goes, not them) Ive just set up a second Flickr account giving me a further 1000 images, second Yahoo address ect but this has me stumped...

Ever since i bought a new Mac lap-top a few years ago the drag/drop feature from i-photo to flickr doesn't work because it's overrided by their double click 'send to' feature (which works a charm) the super-old flickr uploader still works put its a pain in the arse.
Now i have 2x Flickr accounts how the heck do i get 'send to' to differentiate between the 2, it only sends images to my previously established Flickr account, i can't persuade it to recognise the new one??

Someone (either Admin, or a Mod with the necessary permissions)must be able to easily do that, although it would be a tedious task.

I admin a forum site myself - and yes, it is tedious, but stuff has to be done

With regard to a hosting site, most of the issues are inherent in "free" sites.

I pay for an Imageshack account, and I can do pretty much anything with my images. Worth the (small) cost IMHO.

I'm from the north of England! i can endure excruciating hardship if im getting something for nothing Wink

There's no problem with Flickr itself, its the connectivity with i-photo/mac where the problem lies, if need be i'll have to do my photo editing at work on PC which brings me back to the 'excruciating hardship'

An alternative view on the old posts is that some may find them useful to look at. I know there is at least one site that makes its living by cataloguing old Ebay sale items.

A great research source for some folks.

@double0 - I'm even further north than you! The free pies on the bar always gets me to the pub on Fridays!

It's there for reference.

Marketplace rules & guidelines:

1- Do not make multiple separate threads for each item when selling multiple offerings. Each denimbro member should have no more than 1 active sales thread at a time.

2- Make links to ebay or grailed listings as hyperlinks, or you'll likely miss out on exposure to a lot of mobile device users who can't easily cut & paste.

3- When buying goods do not mark Paypal payments as "giift" unless you know the seller very well. Mark payments as 'goods/merchandise".

4- When selling goods supply a tracking number to the buyer. Consider adding delivery conformation for your own protection.

5- Note sold items, but leave up old posts for reference.

6- Retailers are NOT allowed to sell items, post images of stock, or answer sizing or stocking questions here in the market or on any part of denimbro aside from their own dedicated shop thread in the Shops subforum.

7- Denimbro cannot resolve issues between buyers & sellers, so use discretion when buying.

Flickr's cuntiness knows no bounds, not only are they deleting our images, taking our storage away, and limiting our accounts to 1000 photo's, they're now deleting inactive accounts so all the old images will disappear from around the forums.
5th Feb Angry

Usually when you're fucking your customers over your focus group will come up with a suger coated term which sounds warm and cuddly....Flickr have gome with 'SmugMug'

“From time to time, SmugMug may limit the amount of User Content, including your photographs, stored via the Site. SmugMug has the right, at any time, to remove your User Content stored on the Site in excess of such limits. Furthermore, if SmugMug were to terminate an account on the Site for any reason, all User Content associated with such account would be removed"

In the “Your Account” section, most of the following is new:
“SmugMug reserves the right to terminate your account and/or refuse access to the Services to anyone at any time, with or without cause, at its sole discretion. If SmugMug terminates your account due to inactivity.”

We gave you this shit for free, told you it was brilliant, you came to rely on it heavily and now we're blackmailing you for money... what's the opposite of philanthropy?
