Howdy. I’m about to order some of the non-wash/raw TCB 50s, either from Denimio or directly from Inoue. I will have them hemmed if I buy from Denimio or ask Inoue to do so if I go direct. I have a few questions, if you folks could so kindly help. Sorry in advance for the long post. I have tried to look through the whole thread and elsewhere, but there is conflicting info and hopefully I can resolve my lingering questions. How much does the raw 50s denim shrink in length? Denimio says around 5-6 cm. Does that sound about right? If I want a 87cm inseam after shrinkage, shall I go with a 93cm raw length? If it matters, I tend to hot wash the jeans instead of soaking and hot dry them a bit to get a lot of shrinkage done, then maybe put them on damp and/or hang dry. I’m a little worried ordering direct from Inoue because of the language barrier. I don’t want there to be a misunderstanding that results in Inoue hemming to the wrong length (e,g., he thinks I’m asking for the post wash length or whatever). Maybe I’m just being a worry wart. Also, will the waist stretch out beyond the original raw measurement after washing and wearing, or just to the raw measurement? I am thinking of getting a size 32. Denimio says they measure flat 83cm (just under 33”), as does the Redcast store. I just don’t want them stretching beyond that after shrinking and stretching. I understand many brands are a larger than tag size, like the “old style” Denime 66 I usually buy, which measure about 33” for a size 30! The Denimes never stretched beyond the raw measurement so hopefully these TCBs don’t. If anyone has some measurements (e.g., before shrinkage and after wearing/stretching) or their experiences with these jeans I’d love to read about it. Anyways, thanks in advance. I ttruly appreciate any help, and have enjoyed browsing this thread and lurking on the site for a while now. |

Beautiful Bobbo! Washed frequently? TCB has got to be one of the most affordable Japanese brands out there that make incredible jeans.

Thanks mate! Somewhat frequently. Probably washed them after 5 months the first time and then much more frequently.
Really like what TCB is doing (most of the time). Nothing at all to complain about quality wise.
