Yay. The upheaval and impending collapse of our economy is a worthy sacrifice.

Back to socks. I go through socks pretty quickly so I generally avoid paying proper money for them. I blame my big toe as that's where they always go first.

I've always been a fan of the Burlington Argyles but they don't seem to last long at all. I have one pair of the anonymousism socks which seem to be OK and have lasted well thus far.

For general everyday wear I tend to go for Uniqlo socks on warmer days and on colder days, Woolmix boot socks I picked up on ebay. i think I paid £8 for 6 pairs

Now, I hope, in the interest of balance, that they also do a "Don't Forget Agincourt, Frenchie" model for those of other persuasions.

That’s great but they could’ve dispensed with the ‘c’. ‘Bolloks’ is perfectly adequate.

sok is dutch. we don't need the c.
While at it, socks can make your appearance its a major contribution to your outfit.
I use happy socks, stance[ have a skate shop next door], alfredo gonzales. I like burlingtons too.
Most of my sokken have bicycle chain smear on them. Tend to wear the socks from the day before to go cycling with. It's even a a thing on instagram hashtag sockdoping

m&s and happy socks are my go to socks.
However i do like the  wigwam hiking socks and the good lady has some corrymoore mohair socks which she really likes.
I have chup socks also.  They look great, there's no denying that, but they are extortionate and tbh cant ever see myself buying them again.

heck I dropped the 'c' in my name years ago when there were too many Nicks in my homeroom.. gotta be different ya' know!

as far as socks go, down here in the tropics of southernmost florida it's pretty much cotton all year.. and only worn when leaving the house to work or ride a skateboard, the rest of the time it's "barefootin' in paradise"..

had about at least a fifteen-year relationship with costco since they carried head brand sox (white with the grey super cushioned footbed) by the dozen. I'd buy 24 pairs at a time and simply toss out all of the old ones (except for a pair or two to mow the weeds in) so I went in last fall to re-up, lo-and-behold they'd replaced my trusty heads with kirkland brand that appeared to be the same.. bought the tri-anual double dozen and returned them a day later since they didn't compare in fit, texture or cushiness.. I was able to find 'em again on amazon in white/grey and black so now I have a dozen of each color..

probably sounds a little boring, single color stripe-less sox but I've never have a mismatched pair of sox in the past 15 years.. so I've got that going for me

My favorites in general but particularly with engineer boots are the over the calf Darn Tough wool socks.
Just really comfortable socks and they actually stay up.

Last year while backpacking I experimented with a pair of Injini toe socks in effort to stave off blisters and really like them as well. I have now started added those into my daily rotation as well.

My girlfriend who does a lot of crossfit/weight training and hiking backpacking swears by Stance socks.
