I never consider socks really.

I tried to be more conscientious about socks and experimented with wool and blend socks , sought out made in USA cotton socks and they were so poorly constructed I think I returned them .

I tend to buy a package of basic black Hanes socks every 6-7 months.

But I’d love to check out some of these brands at some point for church / dress type occasions.

cool Thread CSL

for me, it's Chups - but I do agree with the narrow arch on some models, which can be annoying...
sizing turned out to be less of a problem once the dealers started paying attention and sorted S, M and L sizes.

Katipal are fine, but often another price level above.

Anonymous Ism socks were too unpredictable in actual size - I gave up.

Merz b. Schwanen - terrible...

Other brands I like: Stance, Smartwool and Falke
Plus the novelty pairs from Samuarai Jeans, Fullcount, etc.

I’m working commercial construction. So my feet and boots are usually wet throughout the day.
So I pretty much only wear wool socks. I really like the Filson socks and darn tough.
I do have a couple pairs of Chup but found they didn’t fit me very well.

I've tried many different socks and Darn Tough socks are by far the winners. All the benefits of Merino Wool and a lifetime warranty. They aren't cheap, but you'll love them. Made in Vermont. Lots of colors and patterns. Anything from a thin dress sock, to wonderful padded boot socks and up to your knee ski socks.

For some reason my feet dislike wool socks... makes them extra smelly. Only socks with high cotton count (>80%) or linen or silk blends seem to agree with my feet. Anyone else have a similar issue?

Yes, but he comes bearing golden nuggets of wisdom.  Darn Tough socks are pretty darn good.  They have a place of honour in my giant sock casket.

Mr. Q., I have princess feet.  Therefore, they make all socks, even wool socks, smell better.  Just ask any hound-dog what a fine delicacy my just-inhabited socks make... Wink

Now, come on.

Let's get serious here.

The SAS was not formed for nothing.

I'm not talking Special Air Service - "Who Dares Wins" and all that high faluting stuff? Nah!

And not Scandinavian Airlines - no, we are not flying to Copenhagen - Why would anyone do that?

And no, I don't mean Surfers Against Sewage. I don't even see an issue there...

No, obviously, I am talking about Socks Are Superfluous!!

This organisation, formed at least ten minutes ago, is now going from strength to strength.

All the guys in the bar think it is a great idea, and are raising a toast to it as I speak..

All my boots come within six inches of my knees - so NO ONE is ever gonna see my puny ankles - so WHY would I need socks?

OK, when canine promenading is required, I may well pop on a pair, purely for toe and bunion protection - but why else??

I rest my case
