First it was 'meggings', then 'man-gina'. Now there's He-vage.

I am learning so much from my fellow denimbro's.

Im quite a fan of short sleeved sweatshirts. I've got ones by pearl diver & warehouse amongst others plus a couple 60's originals.

Can anyone recommend any decent repro brands.

^^^

Healthknit -- I have had luck finding vintage at thrifts, but I think someone in Japan has a license and has been making them.  I see them when window shopping on rakuten from time to time (I still need to figure out how to buy stuff from Japan) .

FYYI The vintage ones shrink like crazy.  ADH92 gave me one as a gift during the RxC contest and it went from a medium to something closer to XS.

Thinking of going with Strike Gold or The Real McCoy's for a zip-hoodie. Anyone own both? Wondering how they compare quality-wise.

I have an older Buzz Rickson,2 Iron Heart,2 Strike Golds and one Mister Freedom.

The Buzz Rickson is the older(slightly heavier version) which was shorter in the length.

The Iron Hearts were the most expensive ones of the bunch if i remember correctly.
The nice detail about these are the double V's front and back. The construction is really good and they run relatively big for a japanese sweater which is good for taller people like me.
They are also the only sweaters that did not shrink at all even in hot water and tumble dried.

My fav though have to be the Strike Gold sweats. They are really thick and extremely soft on the inside.I have washed mine at least a dozen times and they still feel like the day i got them.
The material on these is extremely windproof and dense.I love em.The only downside on these is that they shrank about 1 1/2 to 2 inches. You can stretch them back easily though.

The Mister Freedom Mechanics sweater is awesome too but the overall fit is horrible IMO.The arms are way too short and the neck is so wide two heads could fit in it which is too bad because the overall construction is amazing.

Well,thats my two cents.

Thanks for the review.

I'm not really into graphics or logos, but for some reason I'm drawn to this IH sweatshirt.

Anybody have experience with Two Moon? Fujita at Mushmans keeps telling me they're the best in Japan......

I know what you mean about the MF one. I love the thing as an object, but the proportions are awkward.

I'm getting pretty close to ordering one of the McCoys sweats from BIG. That olive military sweat looks awfully good...
