Yeah, I had shopped with them ages ago without any incident. However, I ordered some t-shirts from them last Friday and it’s been a pretty disappointing experience.

I feel I've given this episode long enough to play out, and now I'd like to solicit some advice. 

Here's the abbreviated version:

Essentially, I ordered an item, the store sent the incorrect item and have since failed to respond to my numerous attempts to contact them and address the situation.

Longer, more detailed version:

The day after Thanksgiving, I decided to look online for a 2-pack of Velva-Sheen pocket t-shirts. Independence had the color and size I was looking for (navy, L), and to make things even better, they were on sale. I put the item in my cart and started checking out. However, I was quoted a price of $20 for standard, ground shipping. I thought that was a bit pricey for such a small item, so I poked around the site to see if there was a minimum that got me free shipping. I couldn't find anything (I was on my phone, so that might have been the problem), so I shot them an email. I left the item in my cart and I went about my day.

I never did get a response to my email inquiry, but the next day I did receive an automated reminder about the item I had left in my cart. In that email it did indicate a minimum purchase amount that would qualify for free shipping, so I went back to the site and simply added another 2-pack of pocket t's (oatmeal color) to my cart. That got me above the free shipping threshold. I checked out without incident, quickly received an order confirmation, and within 24 hours received a shipping confirmation as well. 

Actually, during this period after my order I received something like 4 or 5 emails from the store that all looked like copies of the order confirmation. I glanced over them quickly and checked to make sure I wasn't charged multiple times, which I wasn't. A few days later, my order arrived, and the package only contained one of the 2-packs that I ordered (oatmeal color). I then went back over the series of emails that I had received and found that one of them was actually refund notification. Within that email was a note that indicated that the navy 2-packs had actually been out of stock. I then went to my CC account to confirm that I had indeed been refunded for that item, which I had been. 

For those not familiar, these t-shirts come packaged in a sealed clear plastic bag, with a big "Velva-Sheen" logo and other writing. After I had sorted out the lack of the navy shirt, I went to open the 2-pack I had received and noticed that I had received shirts without the chest pocket. I went back to the original email invoice and then logged onto my store account to confirm that I had indeed ordered the pocket version. I immediately reached out to the store via email to notify them of their mistake. I have never received a response. I have since sent multiple emails, called the store and left voicemails and even sent direct messages via twitter and Instagram...nothing.

I don't have any specific expectations as far as a remedy goes. The store could certainly dispute a refund because I opened the packaging (even though there was no reasonable way I could tell what item I had received until I opened it), but I haven't even received as much as a "fuck you" from the store. I can't even log onto my store account any longer.

I've honestly never experienced anything like this before, and I've done a quite a bit of online shopping. I could see this happening with something like an eBay purchase, but not from an established retailer. 

Should I send the items back and open up a dispute with my CC company? Or should I suck it up and eat the purchase? Thoughts?

I think it's really strange. I called them a few days ago without issue. If they're not responding, I do think it's time to call the CC company and dispute.
