Hahah yeah it's better to just throw a tarp or cover over it. For $400 it's out of my range, for sure.

Just to put things into perspective littledog 3 acres of unspoilt woodland with planning permission for a dwelling will cost you around 600,000usd here in the UK then you need to build your house inc access water supply electricity ect. your going to top a million usd. I am being very conservative here. The average UK salary is around 50,000usd So from my perspective your leading a millionaires lifestyle there buddy.
Hope that puts a smile on your face. I am envious to say the least. |

It sure does make me smile. However, no matter where you build a house, it takes a whole hell of a lot of Blood, Sweat and Tears, in equal proportions. Building a house has been a lifelong dream and I do indeed feel blessed to be given an opportunity to follow that dream. My wife may not agree with me however. But it is a testament to her that we are still married after 5years of building, and we are still not finished. |

last weekend i went to a plane geek thing to keep my partners dad company on the drive, got there asked my partner where the tent was (he had stayed over night),, he smiled like a little kid living his dreams and told me he just curled up under the wing of the plane. it hasnt rained here all year so dont need the shelter but i would have been destroyed by mosquitos (not the de havlland kind)
going camping over easter, looking forward to it very much |

My daughter (at the moment 3.7 years old) wants to go camping in a tent.
She is a little confused as she thinks that means you go camping with a circus tent(she has been watching The Greatest Show On Earth a fair bit lately) I got a cheap and cheerfull tent from work and the first thing from her mouth "where are the clowns in my tent?" some people, sheesh |

Did anyone manage to get any camping trips under there belt over Easter?
The temp is still struggling to get above zero degrees Celsius over here. Last October was still warm enough to sleep under the stars in a down bag in just the tent fly. Foraging for wild mushrooms, We left those Fly agaric well alone. Hopefully in a few more weeks we will be back in the great outdoors. Edited by Double 0 Soul - 11 Nov 2014 at 3:56am |

So cute! Maybe you need to get her a teepee instead and she'll be more excited ;)

Thanks man, my boy was not that much older than yours on his first trip. You might be able to squeeze one in at the end of the summer.

I wasn't sure where to post this, but since I last posted here about my Coracle I will post it here. It seems you can no longer see my original pictures from my last post, but here are some more. I finished the Coracle last week and me and a bunch of friends took it out to a local lake. It was a brilliant success.
As you can see she is called "The Black Duck." Cherry seat and Paddle. ![]() I managed to stay afloat for the maiden voyage. What is not shown is that when I returned later that day to do some fishing I swamped it and nearly lost her to the lake. My fishing poles were lost and I went for a little hike to get back to the car. I have a little more research to do before I call myself a master. I had a lot of fun though.
