Im not sure Chaz, i grew up in a household where we never had fizzy pop, even the Alpine man was considered highfalutin by us, so come the winter my mom would give me hot cordial, lemon barley, vimto and the like to warm me up.

We used to have our heat in the very solid form of a Victory V being shoved in our gobs before catching the school bus in the morning.

The peaks have been white over since November now its a winter wonderland everywhere, this is how much fell last night :)

On the downside i had to abandon my car yesterday and walk into work, dug it out on the way home then when i got home the snow plow had left a 2' high wall of ice at the top of our lane which i had to break up with a hammer and broom handle, took me 2hours to get the car into our drive we've got no food because our order couldn't be delivered and the local Co-Op shelves are bare due to media induced panic buying but....Woooo!!! Sledging!!! we have hills in all directions. Ive bagged work off today.

My kids are out sledging with Mrs Fried-san in (very) snowy London as their school is closed - luckily we have a nearby park with a good hill. This is now the second time in 5 years that the sledges have made an appearance. For context, these are cheap red moulded plastic jobs from Homebase rather than crafted wooden artisan items.

Ive got a proper handcrafted toboggan at my folks house which my grandad made for me, it looks amazing but with wrought iron runners and beech lats its far too heavy and sinks in the snow, when i was a young'un i didn't even have the strength to pull it up the hills. The cheap plastic ones are the best! i always wanted one as a kid but my folks said No "you've got a sledge that your grandad made" i used to use a biscuit tin lid instead.

I am just going outside, I may be some time....
