DudeWhatTheHeck asked how the Brian The Bootmaker resole went. I'm not an expert in these matters but it seems to be a nicely done job. They're Julian boots btw. I've had them a few years now & they looked like new when I got them back from Brian. I've worn them this weekend hence the bit of dirt on the sole.

Damn, those are awesome boots. Redwhiteblue had some prototypes similar to these. I hesitated and lost out on them.
Okay

just took delivery of these

a fine pair of white's sd in brown dress leather. perfect fit. bought used from fre-co. very happy.
[edit] better pic with a hint of "cuffology" thrown in for good measure

brown dress it's an amazing leather, really like it. I believe these are a standard pair of semidress. Standard heel heigh, standard Vibram 700 outsole, standard Quaubaug heels. Why mess with the classics?

Looks like you have made yourself right at home in those new boots, Volvo.
I love my Whites.  They carry my arches all day like they were royalty.  Comfortable and beautiful, an all-too illusive pairing in footwear.

yeah the arch support is great, now that I definitely have a pair of Whites sized "right" I can tell!
I usually like to buy my boots slightly oversized, à la Pippi Longstockings, and then add an insole. I have an obsession with having a bit of extra room to curl my toes.
The insoles mess a bit with the arch support shape of these fine boots. better size them right and use no insole at all. What a surprise haha!

Glad they have gone to a good home.
Not completely standard: all eyelets, no speedhooks.

Decided to put a shine on my 'walking/working out in the field' boots. I got them on ebay for less than $40. I've yet to figure out what brand they are but they're definitely a quality build.
