Yup, I got the workshop tour. Very cool people.

Trying boots on right next to the machine they are making them on is nice....

There's something about those old machines, it's quite magical.
Never thought I'd find myself saying that.

probably the most visited thread for me, many great pieces thanks to all who post here.
Maybe a face only a mother could love, but these are tanks. Thorogood horsehide, 5+ years, one resole by Brian the bootmaker.

I noticed Mr Q had previously posted his FTC, here's mine.

In brown the Mendell, and in black the W Wing - a sort of embellished austerity brogue if you will.

Not for everyone granted, but I'm pretty keen on these. I may even retrieve them from their safe keeping in the wardrobe and actually wear them at some point.

Thanks John. The designer behind the brand (Foot the Coacher), and the parent company Authentic Shoe Co, Toshinosuke Takegahara has worked previously with George Cox and Trickers, I think the styling has come from this English / Northampton heritage influence.

Construction appears neat and solid and luckily for me these make use of a modified last (whether that is 'borrowed' from Alden, or the translation of Japanese referring to a last modified I know not). D width, where I would prefer and normally am an E, but still accommodating and comfortable enough. Leather is Horween so I'll anticipate enough stretch in the right places, but the shape is good so I'll stick with them.

FTCs definitely have such a unique look to them! I love mine. Much better quality than Grenson's that I have. I picked up the service boots last year and it's my favorite. Will post pics in a day or two.

Those look great. I'm not familiar with the brand. Is FTC short for something?
