Brilliant! fre-co is this^ the guy you've used? any idea of costs? There was once a time that i would have stressed over the details.. Cat's Paw as a basic necessity, neat welt, thread guage, perfectly spaced stitch work... nowadays i think i'm past all that malarkey, i'd be happy with a wearable pair of boots.

Hi guys, yes I totally get that the process of getting my LW's repaired is not going to be cheap, but then I know what I want, and Brian's rebuilds leave you, IMHO, with something better than the original LW you started with even when it was new.
I'm keeping an eye on cost just to see what it works out to. So far shipping my boots to Brian is costing £18.70. Well I can spend that on a round of drinks in London and the money in that situation is then gone, so helping me get my boots rebuilt just how I want them is to me better use of that of that money. I've heard good things about Felix, and if he could get Cats Paw sole and heel units and rebuild just as Brian does then I'd have a closer look. Btw, I know Brian doesn't use Cats Paw, but his own units are so close and just as cool, again IMHO.

I'm probably going to source my own heels & half-sole's and send them along with the boots. Folks rave about Dr.Sole's so i don't think you'll go far wrong if Brian uses those.

Looking at his instagram feed it looks as if he uses Dr Sole units. Not sure if his customers have sent them in with their boots or if he carries them as a stock item. No harm in asking the question.

AmericanBiltrire have the license and reproduce the heels (they're an easy pick'up here and there) Etsy or fleabay +fingers crossed for the half soles, full soles tend to crop up more often than halves. ^Click on 'footwear components' at the bottom of the page.

Thanks DoS. Sadly I've tried at least half a dozen tomes in 2019 to use the contact info (email and online form) on the American Biltrite site, offering to buy a case or more of Cats Paw soles and never have I got one single reply. Even one just saying they won't ship to the UK. So deeply disappointed sadly.
