We’re seeing big-name brands experiment with custom stitching, embroidery, patchwork, and dyeing—but I’ve also noticed a strong DIY wave in the community lately. Whether it’s visible mending, chainstitch detailing, selvedge modifications, or unique fading patterns, personalization seems to be making a serious comeback.

Here’s what I’ve been experimenting with recently:

• Minimal sashiko stitching on the knees

• Subtle back-pocket embroidery with initials

• Cold water fading to control contrast
