Shortly after post peak JK freefall, the imposters appear.

I believe these pants were meant to show the free falling JK crew- we too make
jeans out in the woods next to a creek.

Here they are 35/36 W (you can cinch them down)
30 L
First leg of the tour will be me, we can take a month to a month and a half
if need be. A special guest wearing appearance will take the second leg...
Anybody who wants in-speak up, and we will make up the schedule, no end date as of now.
just follow the month and a half rule if you sign up.

I was in agony wearing the LeRoy tour jeans, would have to unbutton to sit down. I just tried the JK tour pants on- they fit good, After a days wear, I think they would stretch a bit, and these aren’t cinched down at all. LeRoy himself wore
Them around town…and I’m not saying who has the second leg of the tour

Suspenders- these have buttons
Where them like a logger, saw some wood
And the chips will fall through the pants and out the bottom

I have as desperately looking for the imposter webpage, I asked LeRoy if he had the original, he’s going to look for it.
If you have it, that would be fire 🔥

Do you have the original link to the imposter site?
I did a little digging a few years back, but I can’t recall what the URL was.
I have a few JPEGs saved from the archival but if you have the URL I can find some more!

I was talking with LeRoy, he said that they forgot to pay years ago. Don’t really think there is a way to find it.
Would the way back machine have something like that?

I think I could squeeze into them.
I'm a bit off-put by what appears to be a low front rise.
Perhaps you could let me know the measurement?

Wayback machine will work as long as we have the original URL!
It’s a great archival tool.

I would like to see you aboard Carl, been wearing them all day- your right,
The front rise is a little shorter than most of the pantaloons I wear…I’ll get some measurements.

A cross forum tour can start- Jackknife imposter world tour SUFU edition, makes no difference to
Me- some one just has to post the link on this thread and follow the month and a half handoff rule.

Hi gang!!!
Thanks for posting this thread Sansome! Nice to see a little new life here. This is great.
That old Roy thread was fantastic! I had forgotten about that whole saga and somehow missed it was Roy trolling. Those jk guys were definitely interesting. I used to chat with them when they worked at Unionmade. Nick was very cool. The other dude a little wierd though. But so much fun to reread.
Looking forward to the tour. I’d join but I’m a toothpick.

The first big winds of the 2022 season. took a tour through our trees 2 days ago.
As you can see the weight of all the pine cones were a factor, Im estimating 80 plus mph gusts hit.
January 2020- at 2am. 125 plus winds hit our place...It shortened our 80 year old oak tree
by 15 feet.  So when you see on the news that California is on fire, these are the winds that drive the disasters. Last pic gives you a good idea how bad they can get.

There was a darn good reason for adding another back pocket, it’s been at least 2 years since I wore a
One back pocket pant, I’m still trying to put my phone in a pocket that doesn’t exist.

Some comparison shots of the genuine Jk article next to the bootleg tour pant-
The real Jk repro pair was made in 2013, a year after they bstarted sewing...I don't
remember when the bootleg pair came about-I think 2016?

Stitch per inch seems to be considerably more on the bootleg pair and I seem to remember
JK using linnen thread on their repro pair IIRC.

What looks to be leather backed rivets, what you see on late 1870's and early 1880's Levi's

This fabric looks like the Levi cone fabric that was made sometime around 2007-9
cone made so much of this fabric back then, just about everyone got ahold of some.
The fabric was floating around until 2013- then long gone. This fabric was made during the Ralph Tharpe days at cone, Ralph had no idea at the time...Why Levi insisted on adding the black ID line
a few years later- this would be known as sail cloth, the further the line was away from the edge of the fabric- the heavier the weight.

Resting measurement, I can stretch it ti 18
I can add a hollows pair of suspenders to the tour,
you can go logger style with the button undone if extra room
is needed.

Spring cleaning must be underway, the last 2 months have been total shite at the thrift stores.
Picked this up in my size today.

I’m not familiar with this jacket, I suspect if it was 100% cotton- you would see the normal
White selvedge. I’ll have to do a little research on the ceiling, I would bet the ceiling is hundreds of years older than the building…This was the era of pillaging cool old shit from Europe.

I am awaiting the pants in the mail.
I'd like a little advice on how to correctly post images. I have made a flickr account and put an image on there, but am not getting the image uploader to accept it.

So far:
I'm clicking the "tree" icon win the menu above the posting dialog box, which takes me to the "image properties" popup window. I then paste the image URL, but it doesn't allow preview or placement of the image.

Additionally, any help on posting a video would be appreciated.

Thank you

Jack/Knife jeans in the flesh! Now this tour is getting started.
I find that Imgur is the most efficient and easiest to use hosting site, no account needed.
Just drag and drop the photos from your desktop, they will automatically upload. Once they're uploaded right click and copy the image address:

Then click the tree at the top and paste that URL and it should preview for you like so:

For hosting video you'll likely need a YouTube account...video is a little more clunky to handle by comparison given the size. But you can upload any videos there, upload them as unlisted and they'll only be visible to people with the direct links shared here. Just a thought.
Let me know if you need any other help.

there is a way of hosting on flikr, but it's pretty convoluted.

(on a desktop) If you click on the share icon in the bottom right corner of the image you want to share (the curly arrow), it'll open up a sharing window - copy the URL in the BBC code option, and paste it into notepad or similar. it should look something like this:

[url= https://flic.kr/p/2kBVDJb%5d" rel="nofollow - https://flic.kr/p/2kBVDJb] [img] https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50946016346_4656c3f06c_o.jpg%5b" rel="nofollow - https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50946016346_4656c3f06c_o.jpg[ /img][/url][url= https://flic.kr/p/2kBVDJb%5d" rel="nofollow - https://flic.kr/p/2kBVDJb] marsell[/url] by [url= https://www.flickr.com/photos/40481848@N04/%5d" rel="nofollow - https://www.flickr.com/photos/40481848@N04/] lovely joe[/url], on Flickr

Then copy the code that's in the img tags - in this case https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50946016346_4656c3f06c_o.jpg" rel="nofollow - https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50946016346_4656c3f06c_o.jpg - and paste it into the image thingy here.

Hey everyone, I have the imposter jeans but unfortunately they are much too small for me. I can do up the bottom two buttons and that's it...Cry
I have a lot more background I'm going to post, if it's alright with everyone here I was going to offer these up to a local friend who might be interested in wearing them.
If not no worries, I'll post a lot more background about the entire imposter project. Just been caught up with real life stuff lately!

Hey it’s me, Broark’s friend. Got a quick picture of me wearing the pants the other day, and they actually fit pretty well! Rise is a little lower than what I would typically go for but other than that it’s a solid fit.
I’ll try and get more pictures throughout the weeks!

I remember when these imposters came out.

I came so close to selling them off in 2018- but JK had so much
Stink on anything JK…Then 2 years later I was told the truth that
Kept in total secret, until it no longer mattered.

I've heard finally that ROY Slaper made the "imposter" JK jeans!    You can check that to see where I found that, and I think it was either here, on denimbro, or maybe Fedora Lounge.   I believe it because the "imposter" jeans were excellently made.   LOL  No kidding!

Hey Broark- I know this is a loosey goosey tour, but it’s probably about time for your friend to move the pants along, they can be sent back to me, and I’ll send them out- or someone else can take a turn…and they can be sent to the next peep that wants them.

So, what was the “truth” of JK? I’m a huge fan of their work, not how it flamed out in the end.

The JK cult leader- sort of a Jim Jones type, minus the poison apple sauce…
When no one was dumb enough to drink his Kool aid, and they seemingly moved
Production to a cabin next to a stream or river- this was the end…The total free fall ensued
Soon after- That’s when imposter JK appeared.

Here are a few photos, I should be able to swing by FedEx and have these shipped out tomorrow. I do need to sew on one of the buttons before then.
I'll get the background story up here soon, I have so many photos that it's just a lot to process with work and life stuff going on right now. But it'll be nice to document!
My dog even likes these pants.

They’ve landed in Portland!

I’ve worn them the last three days and am amazed at the quality and texture of the duck fabric (it’s what I always knew it should be like but have never experienced it until now). Here’s a little of day one:

Working part time at a graduate school on the maintenance team to get free tuition, been doing some painting and drywalling the last week or two, as well as replacing some light fixtures.

More adventures to come.

Continued documentation, mostly from last weekend.

The best Volvo I’ve ever seen, parked outside my apartment.

Espresso with the (newly minted) Rev.

Spend way to much time here (underground vintage mall in the neighborhood)

Probably belongs in the Old Workwear Photos’ thread, but alas…

Just a normal day in Portland…

My buddy Elijah (and his dog Bessy) in a new Danner ad campaign

And lastly some from the ole’ Rolleiflex:
