Hi All.

Hoping for a little help from a collective hive of great minds.

I have what I think are a pair of 47 Levi's.

Big E, one sided.

Leather patch (though now jerky!)

White Selvedge

Hidden rivets

Unstamped number on button back.

Diamond in arcuate.

No care label.

Although I'd like to get excited that they're a c.'47 pair, is there any other features which might exclude them being an Valencia or LVC model?

Any help massively appreciated.

Matty.

All reproductions should have some kind of a wash tag and some number stamped in the back of the buttons.

Later also LVC "stamp" in the pocket bags but early repro's did not necessarily have that.

Thanks Denimetc. Really appreciate that. So ALL LVC would have care labels?

I believe it is a real Levi's from the late 40s or early 50s. LVC replicas are easily recognized.
A question if it can be, Where did you find that jewel?

That patch would exclude anything other than LVC Japan, which to me does not look like their denim recipe. Based on pictures over the internet my guess is they’re not repos. We’re going to need more details to date them however.

looking at the fabric and thread in your pics I would say they are original vintage.

I agree with the rest of you- it’s real or the best Japanese repro on the planet.
Any remnants of pocket bag stamps?

There is usually numbers ink stamped on the pocket bags, I’m fairly sure that there is
On 40’s 501’s...These ink stamped numbers are often washed away, was curious if this
Pair still had them.
