I have, for many years, purchased Levis 550 men's jeans. Hadn't had a need to buy any for several years now but the old ones are getting worn pretty badly. Purchased new 550's and the cut is quite different than before, does anyone know why? Specifically the crotch area is cut significantly lower so they don't fit against the crotch and hang low and baggy, also they seem to have a higher waste. Overall not even close to the same fit as all the 550's I have had owned in the past. I took them back and looked at the others that they have in stock in case it was a fluke, and they were all the same way. No way I can wear this new version. Anybody have any info on this issue? Or know when this happened? Or, more importantly, is there a new name/model that is like the old 550's?? These were simply the only jeans that I have ever found that fit me right so am at a bit of a loss and shocked as to why they would change them.  Any help/advice would be appreciated!

I would guess that changing the fit on the 550’s, wouldn’t get the kind of
Blowback that say- changing the 501’s would get....occasionaly they make these
Kind of changes.

But if you like the old fit- there not that hard to get ahold of- what size are you?
