Hey folks.  Sorry for posting this in a random thread, but I could not find any admin info.  Is there a way for me to change the color scheme of this forum?  I can't read white text on a black background.  It makes my eyes go crazy.

And, hello!  This is my first post here.

This is the place to ask any technical questions you have about the forum, and to make suggestions for how the site is set up and managed.

First, here are the moderators for denimbro:

Nonriveted
Sansome
Bod Dale
bandit
mr randal

These are the five founders of the forum. We all have moderator privileges and can delete, edit, move or sticky any post or thread. We can all also access some member information and help resolve lost password and posting problems.
I am also an administrator, and manage the overall setup of the forums and member privileges.
If you have any general problems, you would probably have best luck trying Nonriveted, Bob Dale or I, since I think we are on the site most often.

Other moderators are:

Dr_Heech (for starting and running several key threads)
setterman (for early adoption and general helpfulness)
almostnice (purely for notorieties sake)

For complaints about moderator almostnice please send a pm to this http://denimbro.com/member_profile.asp?PF=9" rel="nofollow - link .

zissou, I'd like to make personal viewing options possible, but I don't think that is supported for our forum. The link you found for the option is for WebWiz users who host their own forum and have their own hardware. We use the hosted option, wherein WW uses their own hardware and manages the data and software. This package is cheaper and has correspondingly fewer options. We want to keep costs low as we don't want to have to have advertisers or corporate funders to keep denimbro going.
I have asked the WW technical services about it though, possibly this is something that can be upgraded for DB for free or a nominal charge, and if so I will definitely add it on.

In the future we will change the visuals for DB occasionally. Probably around June we will want to make some changes, so I will open the floor to suggestions on the forum setup and graphics here. Anyone with a suggestion or some graphics they think would work, speak up.
We will consider going to a dark text on white background format at that time for the whole site, if it wont mess with the older posts.

newbie Q : Any possibility to know who thanks your posts?

Posted By: mr randal

It looks like this server keeps thanks anonymous by default, with no options. Which probably is healthier than the obligation-breeding sufu/facebook/instagram system.

I prefer it, and like the idea that there is no rep and that these 'points' don't matter. I also like that its a system that only allows you to say thanks or keep your mouth shut.

agreed.

i just noticed the points system.

Well congrats to the founders of that denim forum. it rocks.

Wait, what, my points don't count?  I was saving 'em up for the big stuffed Pink Panther.  All I got so far is enough for the giant novelty comb, and just shy of the Trans Am mirror.

Posted By: erk
Date Posted: 22 Jun 2012 at 6:11am
the thing I really liked about rep was that I could use it to give little kudos to people who posted things I thought were cool. It would be nice if we could leave a little message with the thanks.

Thanks for that link!  It was the Blue Packet that I was unsure about.  I wonder what it does exactly?  They say to leave it in and not to rinse it after the second soak.   First time ever using this instead of a basic detergent or natural soap.

So often I open up Denimbro and load up the 'new posts' page and then for whatever reason step away from the computer.  Inevitably my wife, nephew, or cat navigate away from the 'new posts' page.  When I return to it, I am unsure where to find the new posts.

Is there an option to subscribe to threads or some simple solution to this problem that I am overlooking or unaware of besides reprimanding my family members?

About Levi's jackets, what are the main differences between the 1880 and the Type I?

9 ounce denim, leather patch below the cinch, seam running vertically along the mid-back, uncovered pockets with primitive rivets, and perhaps a different fit?

Mr Black here. Can any moderators help me... I got logged out and am unable to login using my username/password. Tried countless times to get a new password sent to me but whenever I type in the generated security number, all the fields clear and I get to go round & round & round in circles.

Make no attempt to understand German "humor".
Do not come undone (callously or otherwise).
If Ahmadinejad or PaulT say it's true, then it's true.
Knee fade jokes are off limits.
What happens at Bruin stays at Bruin.

I sometimes wish I knew who was saying thanks for certain posts.

Not always, but I feel like at times it would help introduce people to each other much like 'rep' did on sufu.  I mean, what if someone likes the music i post in the 'stuff stuck in my head' thread and we miss out on this potential kinship because I don't know who also likes the same crappy music as me?

Is there a way to find out who has said thanks that I just don't know about?

I know it would take all the mystery, and fun, out of things but there are times when a post I make gets thanked and you think you have an idea who might have thanked it -- and other times you have no idea.  Am I dense in assuming there is no way of knowing who gave thanks for a particular post?

Absolutely, I distinctly recall Jesus saying something like "do good in my name or not at all".

Posted By: devilish
Date Posted: 31 Dec 2013 at 8:54am
It looks to me in the 'Denim Progress' thread anyway that two things may have happened. First, when pasting into the link bar you have to delete one of the 'http//' bits because there is sometimes an extra one by accident. Then stupid photobucket has changed the text in it's links to make the images 'hot links' to your album. You have to delete one whole line of code. Use the bottom option of sharing codes in the list given on photobucket and delete the extra code. You need only the bit starting and ending in [img]. Hope that makes sense.

Edit: I just remembered that when I post pictures from photobucket I just paste the link code directly into the body of the text not into any link bar or window but I still delete the extra line of code so the picture isn't able to hot link back to my photobucket.
