Since these pictures were taken I've blown open one knee and repaired it, working my way through the other knee now. I'll see about getting some pictures of the repair I did and posting them sooner (or later..)

They're great Shorty.
My 1915s are definitely a summer only jean and they're coming out of hibernation in a couple of days.

Thanks all. I actually haven't been wearing them all that much (here and there over the past year, more last summer than the autumn and winter, due to the ROY contest and all), but I'm gonna beat the hell out of them this summer. I'm going to hold off on a wash as long as possible, but will probably have to give in sooner than later as the crotch will need a repair soon.

Good old reliable Carhartt B07, easily the best value for the dollar of any denim anywhere.
Despite the fact that I could buy about 7 pairs of these for the price of one pair of fancy jeans, if the zombie apocalypse happened tomorrow, I would grab a pair of these and say goodbye to the rest of my closet.

501 stf Got these about a year ago or so when I saw levi's changed back to the shallower arcs. Worn in rotation and washed and dried a lot. After the like second wash they had gotten some gnarly white creases on both legs, never had that happen before. They kept coming back pinched into the fabric even after being ironed out for a while. So I redyed them, some tintex in my grandfathers closet. You can hardly tell now. Someone was telling me they might have been seconds.

Very nice 0². Interesting creases descending from the inside rear pocket bottoms- speculation on cause?
Hollows- I used to wear nothing but Carhart for work. the black duck pants specifically, but it was insane how fast the knees would wear through. Their denim is tougher? Or do you just train yourself to squat?

Here are a few pants that I have been wearing the last 6 years . First one is a lee 1934 101B with double felled seams. Wore it for 2 years first 6 months no wash since then every other month or so. After a while the front pocket bags started to show when wearing the jeans. And the cinch back buckle came of so I made a home made repair.

[Left] Lvc 555 1955's: Five months old, One soak, one gentle wash, worn under thick waterproofs for four months (Tab and Patch temporarily removed).
[Right] SugarCane 1947's: Just over a year old. Two soaks, one wash, occasional gentle wear and loving every minute of it. Having to shelve some pairs due to the forthcoming Duck tour pants, and the forthcoming Lvc 551ZXX's!

Looking good! Why did you temporarily remove the tab?

Temporarily removed the tab and two horse patch, so that I could wear them to work, to bring less attention to the fact they were jeans, as jeans are not deemed 'appropriate'. So far I've snuck under the radar, wearing them since end of November under waterproofs mostly. Will be too hot to wear to work soon, as spring is here, and summer is a comin'!

Some new vs now action on my 7161MDs, I gave these a wash yesterday since they'll be semi-retired for the duration of the Russell contest. I plan to put a whole lot more wear into them eventually.

With the warmer weather here in the UK I have been giving my mid 1960's Levi jacket a bit of a wear. Large square label and lemon bar tacks.
OK, I will be honest, 99% of the wear was not done by me, but I repaired the jacket last year, so it could be worn again.

Vanishing West 601XX It was overcast when the photo's were taken.. Its hard to tell but the blue denim is very vibrant.
The rivets are extremely sharp, I hammered the coin pockets flat.

Look at all that grime. You been spending a lot of time over in Grimesthorpe?
(sorry, couldn't resist, just love the fact that that's actually a place name).

Indeed Grimethorpe village is the home of the Colliery Brass Band. Grimesthorpe
in Sheffield is at the opposite end of the social spectrum to Sheffield,s leafy bourgeois district you have visited in the past. Butt Hole Road is 5mins drive from the Shoe Healer.

That's the band in Brassed Off right? I've actually been to that area in Sheffield. Not so nice.
Off on a tangent. It seems like the Yorkshire accents aren't exactly seen as pretty in the UK, but the poem read in Yorkshirean at the outset of this documentary on The Battle for Orgreave always sounds amazing to me.
