I looked for a cardigan thread, I went thrifting off the beaten path today, about the only thing to
Get slightly excited about...is what looks like a high school cardigan from the 50’s
I don’t have access to the computer- or I would post some pictures.

I’ve been cardigan/sweater hunting online today, mostly vintage, still after a good 1920s original or repro shawl collar in black that fits me:

Black Sign made something like that a while back, but with a really neat peak lapel. Some used ones pop up every now and then

Thanks Mr. Q; aside from the monogrammed embroidery and pre-distressing (?) that one is nice. The other most accurate reproduction I’ve seen are Phigvel and RRL, both usually made in China, and some old RMC.

Not the color I’m after, but an example from Phigvel albeit in a lighter weight:

Taking T-shirts here. I just read a description of a short boxy t-shirt as a 'traditional fit'. Where does this idea come from??? In every pre 1960, & likely pre 1970 photograph or movie example I have come across, t-shirts are worn tight & tucked in. So apparently vintage t-shirts were narrow & long, not short & boxy. Here's a photo of Tyrone Power in 1947 wearing a t-shirt that looks about two sizes too small & it's tucked in (Watch the movie, Nightmare Alley. It's good). So bearing all that in mind what's up with brands charging $100 for too short t-shirts? Is it a case of saving by using less fabric? Opinions welcome...
