Came across Papa Nui recently when a friend in Australia posted a link to his blog and a pic of his latest project a vintage reproduction camo hat. Papa Nui answers all his own email and even personalized the stamped hang tag when I received mine. The quality is amazing. Awesome vintage camo colors, herringbone cotton fabric and best of all, they are made to size (not S,M,L).

Check out his blog at http://papanuisays.blogspot.com/

I believe he is modifying the red short billed baseball caps worn by pilots in WW2.  Pacific pilots specifically I think.  The post on his blog talks about the pilots "losing" a zero in the bright sun, and how the short billed caps failed to keep the sun out.  So he is doing an "upgrade" on them to improve them; making the bill longer.

Personally I love short bills and HATE normal length billed caps.

Sell me your Mister Freedom stuff. :)

I love my A-3 replica, but the long bill is a bit much for me.  I kind of prefer the shorter bill, will be interested to see what he comes up with.
