Pics are great. Brilliant work, IMHO. I just don't think they are of "Teddy Girls". Answer to quick questions - Wouldn't have been seen dead in them, and so buggered if I know Edited by denimsince65 - 14 Mar 2019 at 7:48am |

Are there any photos of 'authentic' Teddy Girls? I've seen tons of Teddy Boy pics from back in the day but don't recall any teddy girls other than the set we've been discussing.

They seem,to me, to be a purely Tabloid Press invention. Ever since the likes of "Reefer Madness", the press have tried to sensationalise and compartmentalise the doings of teenagers - usually missing the point entirely. Que sera, sera..... |

Great photos, thanks Buler. These jeans have triple stitching on the back yoke and on the vertical side-seam running from the front pocket to the yoke, so aren’t Levi’s, must have been a competitor. |

Yep. Those are wartime Levis s501xx.
Top pic denim jacket (guy eating) is a Levis 213 l reckon. The denim jacket, Texas, 1938 - the date must be wrong on this as the jacket is a wartime Levis s506xx by the look of it, made between 1942-45. The high arc jeans look to have a felled outseam, so not Levis. Probably one of their many competitors - Pennys, Sears or Foremost? Great selection of photos. |
