You shouldn't beat yourself up. There's a difference between a lucky find & a pre-meditated high $$ purchase.

I had a close shave over Christmas, i have two pairs of black gloves, one pair are a thin yet warm possum fur merino blend (from Ray Mears) the other are 400g Woolpower mitts, i wear the possum/merino all the time at this time of year and pull the mitts on over the top as over-mittens when the temps plummet.
I lost one of the possum gloves before Christmas, i searched everywhere....
Come the new year i was going to have to get a new pair to stop my hands freezing while cycling to work... but then...while loading up the car up with our Christmas decorations (which i store in my folks attic) i spotted the glove on the road, it was wafer thin (like an after eight mint) and about 3x its original size where traffic had been driving over it for the last 2 weeks, i pealed it up, hand washed it and its shrunk back perfectly, good as new, albeit its now charcoal in colour rather than black.
The last time i used the car was to do the Christmas food shop, i must have dropped it while unloading the goodies...Big smile

Great story Neal, quiet around your way is it?

Well done Daniel - although in line with what CSL said above, you could make it a 1-in/1-out policy so you could buy the jacket but something else (preferably a similar item, ie a jacket) has to go to make way for it.

I meant the glove! Still there after all this time, wouldn’t have lasted that long in my manor. You definitely made the right decision.

Double 0, it could be you get out of bed too quickly? Where there is underlying pain or scarring in the body, the quick rush of blood to the feet can induce pain. Also, the pressure from lying down to standing means usually with patients we get them to sit up for a few mins before putting weight onto their legs. Maybe try this and report back any findings? Also, agreed with Daniel, try stretching before sleeping and upon waking up. Hope that helps Smile

It’s good to know we have a real medical professional on the forum. Perhaps we should start a thread for aches, pains and gripes or similar?
