I've failed already.

Then again, I can't condone something like this, out of principle.

I'm literally afraid to purchase anything since losing weight, granted I like the way some jeans feel now but I've had to part with some stuff that really hurt... although putting on a pair of what I'd consider "Mr Rodgers" jeans (aka worn after the day) only to have them completely fall off is enough to make them a necessity to go to someone who can actually wear 'em...

does this mean I'm cheating if I'm doing it out of fear instead of intending to?

Still going strong. Like I said, if I can go six months I’ll be happy, but I want to make it the whole year. Trying to actually wear the clothes tht I own that I love. It’d be nice if I had to repair a few things over the year! I’m looking forward to that.

Im going to save for a new pair of jeans and possibly a leather jacket for 2020..

Thrifting, for me, doesn’t count. I will definitely be looking forward to thrifting in the new year.

And I also mentioned that if Work clothes/shoes are needed this year then that’s allowed... but I don’t think I’ll need those, unless I change jobs? Who knows. I could see myself getting new work shoes later in the year if the ones I have give out, but maybe I can repair those too.

As for not wanting to buy clothes because of fluctuating weight... I fully understand, if it were me and I needed new clothes at that point I’d just buy cheap workwear or thrift until I felt my weight was stable.

Holding steady so far, but I note the approach of the end of January sales with a certain amount of nervousness. The first big test surely?

Thanks Wasim, seeing the doctor tomorrow and should get referred for a scan to begin the process. Ironically, my knee hurts least when I’m running and most when attempting to sleep!

Good luck!

Both my achilles tendons really hurt when i get out of bed in the morning, i hobble to the bathroom and clean my teeth but by the time i get downstairs only 5mins later they're perfectly fine and don't bother me in the slightest either at work or even while hiking, running, cycling ect just that initial wake up period.

What's all that about?

I’ve had my first really challenging moment in my year of not buying any clothes this year, and we’re not even a month into it. I was walking around a Goodwill waiting for my girlfriend to arrive to the train station nearby and I went into this Goodwill thinking that I’d just look at the jackets Incase they had any hidden gems... I found a black leather Golden Bear jacket on the rack and it fits me, only $39. I left the shop and ever since I left yesterday I can’t stop thinking about it. I keep trying to justify the purchase in my mind... like oh, I’ll just put it on Grailed and if it doesn’t sell by the end of the year I’ll keep it, and oh it’s so cheap and I’ll never find a GB leather jacket this cheap again... but I didn’t buy it. I’m proud of myself, but wow, it’s very bad how negative I feel about not buying a thing. I didn’t expect that. Anyone else ever felt this way?
