Those 1873 duck pants look very similar to these two pocket version, which were made in turkey -

Mr Randal has mentioned that the new Duck triple-pleat is MIT, I would assume that these latest offerings are as well?

I'm loving that shield shirt btw - great to see another piece based on one of the Harris's finds. But the price - £112! Really?

So, after purchasing the 1870's denim triple-pleat blouse last month, I decided to hot soak my 1880 knappave's to wear with it. Tagged a size 34x34 (measured 36x36, pre-soak/wash)
After two hot soaks, and a 40 degree wash, they're still a little big, but wearable, now measuring 35.5x34.
Mrs_H shortened the cinch-strap for me and added a buckle from River Junction (thanks entertainment!), she also fixed the 'baggy' fly-button holes so that they didn't 'fly' open (chuckle) and lastly re-attached the fly-buttons so that they were usable by giving them 'stalks' so that the fly-placket sits more flush.
Cuffing-wise, not sure on the giant hem (about half an inch at least) but it's probably more accurate of that period(?) Will just have to wear them for a while, see how they roll.

Here they are teamed up with the blouse -

Also have a pair of 1901's (one hot soak) and some 1933's (one hot soak and one 40 deg. wash) - both from 2004 ('R' stamped buttons) - will get some pics up of those when spring is finally here!

That was fast.. Shield Shirt sold out after only a day. I got the last jumper in my size :) They were gone fats, too. Maybe there were'nt as many made as we thought? Nonetheless, I am glad, the pieces worked out for Levi's.

If you don't mind, I would like to ask again what the little "Hercules Powder" (or "Giant Powder") bag actually is and contains? It is attached to the Triple Pleated duck jacket.

And with regards to the vente privee sale, why does LVC make so many washes? If retailers have to stock multiple washes in different sizes each, no wonder they end up for 70% off. If they ever go out of business because of that…. But then again, I cannot imagine them to stop production on raw denim. That would just seem unlogic, wouldnt it? I ask this because I think here are some very knowledgeable people about the brand and I am highly interested in what others have to say.

As far as I understand it, retailers are presented the upcoming season, they place orders for the items they feel they can sell, and then the items go into production.  If there's a glut of washed jeans at the end of the season, it's because retailers over estimated demand, rather than LVC made a bunch of washed jeans and the retailers got stuck trying to move them.  I agree though, it seems like a waste of resources investing in three or four washed models for some of the 501 years.  But produced in Turkey at lower cost, and then marked up to sell to retailers..... the washed models might be more profitable than the raw ones for LVC.

I'm betting the prices we're seeing at the vente privee sale are wholesale, what the retailers are paying LVC.  LVC isn't losing money, but the retailers are moving out stock they paid for a year or two ago and has been sitting on their shelves (costing them money) since.

Thanks setterman, that sounds reasonable. I kind of forgot that dealers more or less decide over what is produced and what not. (for example roy's balloon pants that didn't make it into production, iirc). So as LVC covers their costs with sales to dealers, they might not be that unprofitable. Sounds good to me. Looking forward to get raw vintage Levis in decades from now Thumbs UpThanks!

Yeah, LVC already got their money for the items on sale at vente privee.  This is merchandise retailers couldn't move, and it's being cleared out for them.  The 3 to 4 week delay after the sale before your merchandise ships is vente privee waiting for the items to arrive to them from the retailers they're selling it for.
