wow, now they're great!
and if you let him do the initial-/shrinkage-bath himself in the bathtub with the pants on (i do that with great pleasure and a cup of hot tea whilst my wife is laughing her ass off and taking pictures for our friends to show/blame me) he'll find this weird denim-thing even more interesting ;)

Great pair Maynard, they'll get good use!

Regarding the no coin pocket selvedge, I chanced upon a note on instagram; apparently it appeared on 1946 transitional pairs as well, so it may be one of the random inconsistencies/traits that carried on from whatever factory. Reason I asked is because I have a pair I've dated to 1947-51 that does fit in more towards the earlier spectrum which makes more sense now!

And random thought, but cut off Levis have always been my worst nightmare until I've seen this:

Which I may or may not bid on LOL

Thanks for the photos of the wartime 501's. Pretty cool how the all cotton yellow stitching has faded to an almost off white. I've seen the same thing on vintage Lee's. I also like the period patch repair above the back pocket.

Those are a beautiful pair Maynard, please take some more detailed shots when you get the chance.

I don't have any kids levi's jeans but am on the look out for some, although I did score a nice little jacket the other day. I will get some pics up this weekend.
I do have two pairs of DS mid-late 60's Bluebell Wranglers (see B/W thread) put aside for my son. Like 302's, they're sanforized :)

Hey iamcam, any news on the details on your zipper pair?

Here's a pair on ebay that you could compare details to -
