Crispy- I’m in Hoarding when it comes to jackets and denim 501’s....I’ve got a 10-15 year plan, before I start
Letting these go- If your still a medium in 10 years, I’ll give you first crack.

Joking aside, anybody here hoarding the denim family/longhorn/shorthorn jackets?

I seriously doubt anyone is hoarding those^^^ a friend of mine came across a dark blue denim family shirt ( medium I believe) he’s not a hoarder of those....think he sold it sort of cheap- 1k IIRC

Hi guys - I've a geek question - I apologies in advance if it's been answered before. What's the consensus on retail price for Levis in the late 1800s?

Thanks guys!

Amazing! Thanks! So they were getting pretty cheap by the late 90s! Presumably they were more expensive while they still had the patent in the 70s & 80s?
Davis' said he thought they could retail for three dollars in his letter to Strauss in '72.

And a factory map from 1972 (not 100% certain)

Very very very interesting finds!!!!Clap
Just some interesting observation:
Only saw denim jackets are made in Fayetteville.
Can't see the Denison, Texas plant (probably covered by Wichita Falls?) but a denim jacket logo and a "flash" sign pointing from similar region.
From 1971 there are mainly 2 plants making denim jackets, 524 (major) and 526 (minor), based on button numbers.
Making a bold guess:
"524" is the Denison, Texas plant.
"526" is the Fayetteville, Arkansas plant.

This excellent post has some clues to where the factories were. Most of the 70's-'80's small e type-III jackets that is see in the vintage stores are stamped 524  - so maybe that was the Denison or Wichita Falls factory. Some quick googling shows that at least the Wichita Falls was running until 2001...
