Im sure this is not unusual... Ive thrown in the towel regarding my kids clothes, he completely ruins everything, long winter pyjamas last less than 2 weeks before the knees go through and we cut them down to shorts, school uniform needs repairing/patching almost every week or replacing every two/three, we've even started taking uniforms out of the charity box at school passed down from those kids who have actual respect for their clothes which are really meant for less off parents who are struggling to clothe their children.
We're not dressing him in expensive shit, but its not the bottom of the food chain either, H&M, Marks n'Sparks, Next, J.Lewis and the like in the hope that its made well and will last Ouch
On one hand im happy that he doesn't give a shit (he's only 8), but on the other hand he's on his fourth pair of trainers since November, Ouch!
If it was down to him im sure hand-me-downs wouldn't even exist.

Back in my day, the way the biggins got around this was just not giving us shoes and making us clothes from a burlap sack. If you got too hungry, you could always cut off a bit of the sack and eat it. had to boil it, of course. Couldn't cut off too much though, or the kids would tease you for having yer "taters showing." Kids can be real mean like that.

Now there's a ruggedly handsome young fellow in the making. Grrr.

Silly old T. Rex thinking he could be the boss of Jack the Giant Slayer and his sturdy denim hand-me-ups from the Good Green Elf, Maynard...
