excellent work and very informative.

I was happy to finally meet in person at inspiration with John, as we've know each other through the internet for years.

Great article and pictures.  Back when I knew you were coming up (but missed when you actually didCry), I went scouting for his place and only came up with a residential house on Queen Anne (just up the street from a decent fabric store the wife and I hit up).  I didn't think I had the right place, or that the manufacturing was off site, but I guess that was it.

John is not only a master of his trade but one of the nicest guys I know!

I had the chance to meet him in Seattle a couple of years ago, when my wife and I were on a holiday tour from Seattle to Vancouver and back.....Ordered and paid for a Dubow A-2 well in advance of the trip and when we arrived at the Museum of Flight, we met John who came up with my Dubow and a new AERO he wanted to show me....I took both jackets home.

The day at the Museum was great: Though John was on a tight schedule with making other jackets he stayed for a couple of hours and we even got the special tour with Wilson, one of John's buddies and a former staff member of the MoF.

Thanks guys!
As many here have noted, John is an incredibly nice guy, and very passionate about his work. He was a pleasure to interview.

Here are a few pics of John's of his workshop:

I love a state of the art production facility or if all else fails a completely overrun suburban home.

Loved the interview!
John Chapman sounds like a really nice guy and as an artist I found his background information highly interesting.
Has anyone ever seen any of his art ( apart from his jackets) ?
