Respect to you. It looks like an old Wadkin, correct? I use one at work and as you say, you get to know the machines with use. That said, I’m keeping my digits on the other end of a push stick as I don’t get paid enough to go any closer! Haha.

Old! how dare you? You're right it is a Wadkin, although getting on in years it's newer than my older Wadkin, that was a great saw, the blade used to bevel 45 degrees in both directions, this one only bevels towards the fence, the motor was f***ed and it used to trip under load, it was a lot cheaper to buy another old saw than it was getting it rewound, or whatever it is they do.

I have a series of push-sticks but i only use them if i'm cutting through the piece of timber, i don't bother if i'm housing in.

What is it you do for a living jr?

Yeah, the one i use only tilts towards the fence aswell - so a similar 'vintage'. I work as a Technician in a secondary school up here in Aberdeen, which involves prepping the timber for use in woodwork classes, setting up the machines, general maintenance etc (i've still never dropped the nut when changing a blade!). I don't get much chance to be creative with it but i occasionally get to do a little project for home.

I also run a small side business making leather goods with my other half, which keeps the creative side of my brain engaged.

Here are a few pics, so you get the general idea.

I didn't think it would be cool to link to the online shop, as i don't want to be stepping on any toes but here are a couple of online testimonials and our IG. We had a daughter in 2017 so everything ground to a halt for a while there but we're getting back to it.
