Hear hear. I bought a Nanamica goretex jacket a few years back and had to leave it out in the sun and rain for WEEKS before it was tolerable, let alone cleansed, of the previous owner's olfactory wrecking ball.
On the flip side, I find that the used stuff I get from Japan has a pleasant, distinctive, and not-overbearing smell that is probably bound up with some nostalgia from time spent in the country. I'd much rather smell a human body than the stuff folks wear to mask it.

I saw a commercial the other day, It makes you clothes stay and have a fresh smell for weeks, It’s these brightly colored
Pellets- you add them to your wash....Perhaps this is the sort of thing that’s adding what sounds to an abundance, of unwanted fragrance? |
