I'm sure you have plenty of fun/period correct fabric for patching... Any mistakes could just be covered up with a bunch of melted wax. . I mean, you could just melt a whole bunch of wax on and stick a candle on top... haha.

I’m afraid that the candle wax party days- are behind me. I have probably 100 or more pieces of fabric from the 1800’s And maybe a few dozen from the WW1 time period ( That’s where I get the stifel fabric from) Candle on top might be a little......Too over the top.
