555 is the Valencia street factory in San Francisco, active (for LVC) 1996 through 2002
4170 is a factory in Los Angeles, mostly active after 2008
554 is San Antonio
643 is I think Taylor togs in North Carolina

I think those are the main ones, but there are others where some runs have been done, in the US and turkey, that will show up one some model years.

IIRC 585 is a factory that produced for Levi’s mainline pre-LVC. I don’t know what factory it was.

Inside the waistband- I think this is introduced in the late 90’s- I have a no wash, good size- made in the USA
I suppose I’ll go up to 2003- I heard that’s the year- the last factory closed in the US.

whats the arc look like on that pair?
do you know what kind of denim did they use on the Mexican ones? was it still cone?

I only bought 1 pair since. 2014 i think.  they are made in hati, have a singled felled inseam, the arc is shallow again and the horses on the patch are in silhouette.

I can post that pair in a few days- I’ll add it into my wash tag dating post.
0609 on the wash tag above- should mean June 2009.

I only ever look at the LVC website during the sale nowadays. Picked up some cone 44s in 2015 half price, and almost to the day picked up another pair of 44s which were delivered yesterday. (90 quid)
I have to say that even though the 'made in bulgaria' tag is disappointing, the jeans are an improvement on the 2015 version inasmuch as they've added 44 style pocket bags of interesting stripy fabric. Will be interested to see how they compare in a few years time.
My 44s have been in a very infrequent rotation and have not been worn much, but I do really like the cut.

The 44s are my favorite. I only have one pair from about 10 years ago. I would definitely buy another at the price you mentioned.

Simon- yes, that looks like a nicely worn LVCJ made from 1996 to 1999 or 2000, when they used the "507" stamp.
