Only just got around to reading this^ it is indeed a great article! the KillaKela stickers made me smile, he came back to our house once after a disastrous Phonetics gig in Sheffield, at the time he was relatively unknown but billed as the next Rahzel. A few months ago i thought 'I wonder what happened to Kela i'll check him out" and found 'Everyday' on youtube, Wow! he's more like Justin Timberlake nowadays but worse.

Nice one Fender.  I can only wish that doing battle with our revenue agency could result in such mean guitar licks.  Wound licking, more like.

I loved the part about the architecture of New York being captured in the landscape of the music. Fantastic!

I went to see the Philip Glass Ensemble perform 'music in 12 parts' a few years ago at the royal concert hall.  It was excellent.  The sound was massive, in parts actually sounding like great house music.
I honestly have no idea how they held their concentration for that length of time playing such frenetic, intricate, repetitive music.
It was a very hypnotic experience, tbh i think i may have nodded off at one pointEmbarrassed
Gutted i missed Reich perform "music for 18 musicians' the next afternoon, but hey, you can't to them all!

I saw the Glass ensemble a few years ago, they were great. I saw Music for 18 Musicians the same year, and it is just amazing live: full of unexpected humour with the changing of positions of the musicians etc throughout.

Terry Riley is playing Tusk festival this year (and presumably some other show while he's here) - going to try and catch him this time.

I thought you meant the Grateful Dead had done a version of Music for 18 Musicians... that would be worth hearing. LOL

I love this french prog band's take on Riley's 'In C', which is in the same ballpark (I imagine)
