after a recommendation from CSL I got samples of Michter's standard expressions a while ago - finally got around to actually drink them...the Bourbon & Straight Rye is recommended.

Smoked Date at https://thisiscampfire.com/

Breakfast in Paradise at http://www.politeprovisions.com/

Atra Mors Double IPA at https://blackplaguebrewing.com/ that is within walking distance of my home. Danger close.

Glad to hear you found them palatable, Foxy. I think I'm leaning towards their version of a sour mash as being my current favorite. I also have a special batch bourbon that is very good. The only one I've shied away from is the wheat whiskey. Don't think it would be my cup of tea.

some terrible photos attempting color comparisons
but getting mildly seasonal
a tasty gift of a 'bloody shiraz' gin by four pillars alongside a homemade concoction of rosehip steeped in gin (then rebottled in a nikka whisky bottle - the previous contents are also fully recommended...)
and then finally, from reds to lemon yellow: suze and soda: a sharply dandelionish tang

I saw the sour mash, but couldn't get a sample.
Will try again and include some 10YO's as well - the 20YO are getting too pricy considering it is probably MGP at this stage...

That Atra Mors looks rich. I wish I had a brewery within walking distance like that too. Thanks for sharing the pics, they're awesome.

It's really rich. 9.9% ABV and 100 IBU's. A little goes a long way. I'm drinking the Black Plague Pandemic today. A Nelson style IPA that is 7% ABV and 65 IBU's. Growler fills at Black Plague are $15 on Fridays.
