Did the one and only duck repro have 'full' buttons?
lt may be easier for me to save up some funds, come out there with you and Russ, and dig up an original duck triple pleat! ( ..as long as it's in a well preserved size XL) |

the duck triple pleat only had the collar button intact- it wasn't a Levi button- it was a round metal button, with a little jewel in the center......we found a 1875 button patent- this patent matched the button on the duck triple.....I don't think there is much chance of digging another......my competition got tipped off to this spot......then he took a tractor to it......it's pretty much why I don't post any pics of the places I go anymore......I've learned to keep a lid on things now

This story does have a silver lining- as I predicted- not much was found with the tractor......so it probably saved me -150 man hours, spread over many years- just to find almost nothing......Ill spend my time somewhere else.

Dont blame you Mike.
I was obviously kidding about digging up stuff, but just wondered about the duck repro buttons being complete or just having the front facing part only - didn't your Mrs have the duck version? Edited by Dr_Heech - 05 Jun 2016 at 6:54am |

Yea I got the joke doc- if you ever make it out here some day.....I would still take you out- I finally found the LVC duck triple pleat- it has buttons with both front and back parts- maybe it was the third run of denim triple pleat that started using the one sided buttons- I know the corrected one uses the one sided button. |

Thanks Sansome.
Lottery- win pending, lt would definately be at the top of my selfish list - and l would happily fund as many trips out in the desert as possible, regardless of any finds. Shame this thread has gone a bit tits-up. |

The 'i' is lower case (it has a dot), which I think is incorrect for both the big 'E' and small 'e' eras, plus those pockets don't look right to me.
