Those are a good looking boot.  For a second attempt they're incredible.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. It’s greatly appreciated.

I do have a few progress photos but not comprehensive in any way.

As for equipment, I’ve become friends with a local boot maker and had the fortune of using his equipment. May be doing a partnership in some way. Keep you posted!

Follow up to my first attempt to make boots...

Here is my second attempt. Very happy with how these turned out!

  • Brown Horween horsebutt chromexel
  • Japanese roller buckles
  • Unstructured toes
  • Neoprene half sole and Catspaw heels

I know money is tight for all right now, but Wesco has a few pairs of the Mr. Lou horsehide engineers Standard and Strange have offered in their seconds page right now. The pairs I saw had minor blemishes at best and look more like first quality (tells you a lot about how Standard and Strange are inspecting product, kudos to them for insisting on perfection).

The seconds are a few hundred dollars off the retail price.

The heels on my lofgrens need to be changed - does anybody know where I can pick up some new heels, preferably in Europe? Would you recommend the same type of heel or are there others to consider?

One of the guys from Brass now lives and works in Germany. He goes by @brasstokyo_masa. He could either do the work for you or maybe even just send you rubber heels. He speaks solid English so you should be able to DM him with no problem.

Thanks dude, I’ve been corresponding with him for a bit - I’ll definitely get my work done through him.

My Attractions lot 444 horsebutt engineers came.

I love the design and last on these and the leather is extremely nice. Construction is pretty good, but there are some flaws as I expected. Definitely happy with these.

It was a very pleasant surprise. They mislabeled it though for some reason.

No, I know! I have a couple of them. Perfect size compartments for LPs!
