Found while watching Charlie's Angels Season 3- Angels on Skates: Roz Kelly (Pinky Tuscedero) wearing a pair of cut off late '30s 501s as hot shorts.

I've seen tons of vintage workwear turn up on extras in shows from the '60s and '70s- henchmen, construction workers, and pretty much any non-uniformed blue collar worker will often be wearing very old jeans and leather jackets. Emergency and Adam 12 are particularly good for that. I guess back then it was pretty cheap- probably Pinky's '37s were picked up in a thrift store for a few bucks. This would've been before Picker Culture really exploded, i guess.

I forgot about prop houses back in the 70’s, they would easily have a pant that old- who would care back then- Cut off the legs and make some shorts out these old pants- people were smaller back in the 30’s, so I can see how they might have a small size like these? Kids these days, they don't know squat. Got this off a 20 year-old dude selling mostly 80's and 90's surf wear for 20 bucks.
I'm no expert by far, but I think this is a 1968-70 type III? The lot number is worn off too much to see, but I think that button stamp says 524. |

Okay a strange feature on the jacket above, which my (admittedly limited) exposure to hasn't seen is that the cuff button holes are split, effectively making two different tightness levels. The navy chain stitch goes around the (much bigger) hole as per usual, but then it strikes through the middle. Is this a normal feature of jackets from this era? Pics below:

Not sure if this archive has been shared previously, but I thought I would post it.
I believe this is ran by Shingo of denimba, and it features some great photos of vintage jeans: http://denimarchieves.com/e/index.html I really like these S503XXB's from the 40's. |

Great site! haven't seen it before. I clicked the ad but couldn't find any jeans to fit my dog.
