Number one on my list is to find a true 1890-93 XX
Unfortunately this one dates from 1893-96

This pant is pretty much the same vintage as the Calico pant Levi has in the archives- Thought to be from 1890......If this was a 1890 XX- why no mention of (the only kind made by white labor) In all of the 1890 through late 91 Levi ads......It always says (The only kind made by white labor) White labor goes away in Levi ads- we cant find them after November 1891?

So here is what we think about this pocket bag- It gets put on in 1893 and stays there until the guarantee ticket replaces it in 1896.

One of the small changes between 1893-96......Black thread appears and doesn't go away again untill 1984? Doc help me out here.

Some of the small changes that i think happened to the XX between 1893-96
Folded waistband and double yolk
Fly buttons are no longer branded
Pocket bag stamp goes away
The box stitch that holds the buckle turns into a triangle
Black thread is used on the button holes.

Up until today- this looked like the oldest ticket that could be found- a ticket that says for over 17 years the standard- has been found.

woah, is that a 506xx with a double-pleat?
I thought they were all triple pleats.

NRA patch is cool, for sure.

First time posting. I respect the knowledge of the members on this forum and even though I've been a denim fanatic for many years I have to defer to those wiser than myself with this request.

I picked up these jeans a few weeks ago from a vintage shop. They were on a shelf with a ton of other jeans of different ages but I could see these were different because of the selvage edge, doughnut buttons etc.

I've researced them little and know they could be a pair of war time 501 XXX but I also have some doubts. I've found some images of 42-47 501 copies that were made in Japan in the 90's.

Any thoughts or advice would be great thanks Guys!

Don't judge me because I'm new...I'm old.

The wear on those looks a bit artificially enhanced to me although I could be wrong. Could we see a photo of the back of the top button please?

^My thoughts exactly, both whiskering and combs look pre-distressed
I'll endorse anything for cash

pre-distressed for sure.
the amount of indigo loss and wear&tear doesn't match with the condition of threads, tab, arcs etc..
