^ Too true. Last Christmas I bought my (then) 9 yr-old son a pair of black suede hi-top Blazers that took me ages to track down in his size and for a reasonable price. He hated the constant lacing and unlacing kerfuffle every time he put them on/took them off - he prefers to kick shoes on and off if possible. This Christmas he chose a pair of all-white Stan Smiths (I hate white leather trainers) but it’s his choice. I would have preferred him to get the all-black version but he said they look too much like his school shoes!

Funilly enough Martin, i had some black Stan's years ago and my Mrs used to call them 'my school shoes'

While we're on the subject of Nike... I saved my 1985 era 'blue label' AJ1 satin jacket until fairly recently..
I got that jacket in a trade for a Levi's Trucker (from Western Jean Company) around 1988.
I'm wearing SC Oki's so i think that would have been around 2005/6 when i sold it for £600.

It was mint apart from the odd 'hot rock' hole.

Wish i still had it, feels like i sold off a part of my childhood.

Indeed, it was a good size, the zipper pull was still intact and the snap fasteners were still black, the black paint would often chip off in the wash.

Sneaker wise I’ve reslly been enjoying Vans again lately.
Worked retail for them for over 12 years and got burnt out on them.
Now I’m full circle and back to wearing them again. Haha

Anyone read about Rob Pope the Brit who ran the 'Forrest Gump run' breaking the fictional record?

Not wearing 1972 leather Cortez but still...what a hero!
