I think Filson deserves a bit of a jeer for what they're doing with this Horween collaboration:
![]() First of all, in my opinion, its appearance is...questionable. And it costs a thousand dollars. But the real shame is that they're shouting and trumpeting about how Horween is a great American institution, while completely snubbing Wickett and Craig, the tannery that has provided all of their belt and strap leather for many years. Including, ironically, the strap leather for THIS BAG. No mention of Wickett and Craig on Filson's site anywhere, ever. W&C is a great tannery, and makes a product every bit as good as Horween's, it sucks to see them treated this way.

Filson is clearly riding the wave of Horween hype, forgetting to give credit where credit is due. Filson could likely boost W&C's notoriety with a single tip o' the hat on their website or catalog. W&C already lists Filson as a client on their own site.
I know that a lot goes into making a bag of this type, but I too wonder how Filson arrived at a $985 price point.

Perhaps it had something to do with the private equity firm that recently sold the Filson brand to another private equity firm. Everyone's out to make a profit after all!

Anyone ever pick up this jacket? If so, how's the fit, and more importantly, how well can you move in it?

Hi, just been reading this thread with interest. I've been looking for a water-repellent coat I like for last few weeks and have recently been thinking a lot about the tin cloth cruiser Alaska fit (below)
![]() Available online here in UK Largam Works However after reading quite a few reviews I'm wondering whether the extra long version would suit me better.. ![]() The problem being that I can't find anywhere in the UK where I can get an extra long online. Does anyone know if the new London store can get any Filson jackets for UK customers and whether you need to actually visit the store itself to buy it or if you can order from them online/over phone? Cos when you go on the website for the Filson London Store (see link below) it's just a link to the worldwide Filson website and UK customers, according to the main Filson website are not catered for i.e. UK customers cannot have stuff sent to them from the U.S. (why I have no clue but I imagine someone round here will know??). Cheers |

I might be wrong SK but I think The Liquor store might have both of those in stock at the moment. Unless the extra long is a different model again
http://www.liquorstoreclothing.com/filson-m83 Hope you find what your looking for. The guy who owns it is very knowledgable and helpful about Filson and has in the past offered to order me filson vests in, he may well do that with the jacket. If he hasn't got it in stock.
