Filson still cranks out quite a bit of US-made classics:
I have been lusting after the Westlake jacket for some time, and they just released a couple more very interesting jackets and vests...a couple of my favorites: |

I do like that second jacket a lot. Looks like Alex P. has been working his magic.
Seems as though they've expanded their offerings that are made in the factory- very nice!

Eagerly awaiting some side-by-side comparisons of the Alaska vs. Seattle fits that they're doing now. I imagine Archival Clothing is going to be all over it soon.

No, Archival is just really good at posting pictures of how Filson stuff fits on normal sized humans, I bet they're already planning to provide some visual reference regarding the two fits.
Just guessing based on their Filson coverage in the past.

Ah, I see. That will be good.
My understanding is that Filson is working on rebranding and updating the fits on some of their pieces that have gotten repeatedly up sized over the years. Would be nice to have some of their stuff have a more consistent chest to sleeve length ratio. I know hunters need a little more room to store game and keep their sleeves out of the blood (schooled by Setterman) but not everyone that likes Filson is a hunter. I wear their stuff to work as a gardener, and the requirements differ, as do those of probably most outdoor jobs. |

Mr. Randal, what size was your FilsonxLevis vest?
I am wondering about the soy waxed fabric. Maybe it is a lighter attempt at waxing. |

I really like it too. Would make a great grouse/woodcock hunting jacket. Too bad it wouldn't be legal to hunt in PA with it as your outer layer though. Need 250 sq inches of blaze orange on your head and torso to hunt upland birds.

better to look like a "clown" in blaze orange than be shot at by a "clown" who may think you're a Grouse :)

Oh, I know! I always make sure I have lots of orange on, especially during rifle deer season! But with Filson, and what I'm seeing from other upland hunting clothing manufacturers, they're either not using any orange, or not enough. If they're going to make this nice hunting gear, it would be great if it had enough orange on it and was actually legal to wear!
